J. Coleman Marriott
J. Coleman Marriott was born in Licking County, Ohio, September 4, 1877. His parents' names were Greenburg O. and Amy (Willey) Marriott. He received his early education in the public schools of his native county and completed a course at Hiram College, Portage County, Ohio, from which institution he received his degree in the year 1903. He taught for some time both before and since his graduation, having had charge of the high school at Bellepoint last year. He studied law with Messrs. Marriott, Freshwater and Wickham, and was admitted to the Bar in December. He opened an office during the last year in Newark, Licking County. Ohio, and began the practice of his chosen profession with flattering prospects for future success. He is at this time a prominent candidate for prosecuting attorney of Licking County. Mr. Marriott, though not having practiced in this county, has been so long identified with it while teaching here and having been admitted to the Bar as a student from this county. We are glad to recognize him as one of our number.
