Miles O. Gano


Miles O. Gano, farmer, P. O. Edinburgh, was born in Paris Township, Portage Co., Ohio, August 13, 1838, son of Daniel and Adaline Gano, natives of Ohio, who married in this county, first settling in Paris Township, where they lived until the death of the latter, after which Daniel Gano was married to Lorain Streeter, a native of Ohio, and then resided in Paris Township until his death in 1865; his widow is residing with her children. Our subject was married, August 12, 1862, to Emily Bliss, born in Windham Township, this county, in 1829, daughter of Worcester and Harriet Bliss, both now deceased. To Mr. and Mrs. Gano have been born three children: Clayton B., Abbie L. and Julia M. Our subject is a farmer, and owns 100 acres of good land where he and his family reside. During the war of the Rebellion he enlisted in 1862, in Company D, One Hundred and Fourth Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and was discharged on account of disability in 1863. He and his wife are members of the Congregational Church.
