David Swander


David Swander, deceased, was born in Fairfield County, Ohio, May 6, 1807. He was a blacksmith by trade, which in connection with farming he made his vocation through life. June 27, 1830, he married Miss Lydia Cashner, then of Fairfield County, Ohio. They settled in Fairfield County, remained two years, until May, 1833, when they came to Shelby County, made improvements, and settled on the farm in section 35, Franklin Township, now owned by his widow, Mrs. Swander. where he died Feb. 1, 1853. They reared a family of eleven children, viz., Christina, Sarah, Savilla, Susan, Edward, Aaron, Alfred, William J., Frances A., Rebecca A., and James M. Christina, Aaron, and Alfred are now dead. Alfred died in the war of 1861.
