Wm. D. Breese
Wm. D. Breese was born in Butler County in 1823, and at the age of nine was brought to this county by his parents, Griffith and Mary Breese. He married Ellen Yoakum, daughter of Solomon and Ruth Yoakum. She was born in Knox County in the year 1832, and in 1840 came with her parents to Allen County. Mrs. Breese died February 2, 1860. They have but one child, Griffith Alva Breese. Children of Griffith and Mary Breese: Nancy, George, John, William D., David M., and Griffith. Children of Solomon and Ruth Yoakum: William, James, Cyrus, Delila, Sarah, Ellen and Drusilla. Mr. Breese has lived on the same farm since 1832. He has held the offices of Township Clerk and Treasurer.
