A. S. Butterfield


A. S. Butterfield was born in 1822, and married Ann M. HATCH in 1838. He established himself in the busiess of saddlery on Main street, in 1867, and built the residence where he now lives at Madisonville. In 1864 and 1865 he represented the eighteenth ward in the city council of Cincinnati.

A. S. Butterfield's father, John Butterfield, first settled in Cincinnati about 1818. He was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, and emigrated from that State to Ohio, where he died in the year 1822. He was a carpenter by trade. His wife's name was Elizabeth Emerson.
