John Pierce


John Pierce was born in Lawrence county, Ohio, March 19, 1835, his parents being James and Elizabeth (Lambert) Pierce. Mr. Pierce was married to Ann Markins in this county October 10, 1861. She is also a native of this county, born July 13, 1838. They have the following family: Melvine B., born September 1, 1862, resides at home; Hatty J., October 16, 1866, resides at home; Adella G., August 7, 1874, died June 23, 1876. The parents of Mrs. Pierce are Anninas and Hepsy (Melvin) Markins. Mr. Pierce has a brother in the war of 1861. Richard Pierce enlisted in 1863 in the 45th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, and served one year, after which he received his discharge. Mr. Pierce is a carpenter and farmer, residing in Upper township. His postoffice address is Coal Grove Furnace, Lawrence county, Ohio.
