Scott Bonham


Born on a farm in Stokes township, Madison county, ohio, near Grassy Point church on January 25, 1858, son of William J. and Letitia Bonham. Attended Grassy Point country school, Midway village school, Bloomingburg Academy, and Ohio Wesleyan University, at Delaware, Ohio, graduating from the latter with degree of B.A. in class of 1882. Attended law school at the University of Virginia, and the Cincinnati Law School, graduating from the latter with degree of LL. B., in 1885. Prior to admission to the Bar, taught school for five years in Stokes and Range townships, Madison county, in Midway, Ohio, and at West Unity, Ohio. Practiced law in Cincinnati since 1885 to the present. Was a member of the Board of Legislation of Cincinnati nine years, from 1891 to 1900; President of the board two years, and for four years attorney for the Ohio State Dairy and Food commission, at Cincinnati. Frequently delegate to city, county and State Republican conventions, and for two terms Presidnt of the Ohio Republican League of clubs. Has been trustee of Ohio Wesleyan University for five years. A thirty-second Degree Mason, member of the Presbyterian church and a bachelor.
