Addison Cornwell


Addison Cornwell,farmer, P O. London. This old and respected farmer and pioneer school-teacher was born in Virginia September 19, 1819. He was the son of George and Sarah (Fleming) Cornwell, natives of the Old Dominion of English, Scotch and Welsh descent. They settled in Union Township in 1840. Our subject was educated in the subscripton schools and at Washington College. He was married in 1839, to Tabitha Trussell and raised a family of eleven children of whom eight -- five boys and three girls -- survive. His wife died in 1870. The children are all married and doing well. Mr. Cornwell owns a farm of 137 acres. He is a Republican. a great reader, and one of the best posted men of the county.
