John S. Wilson


John S. Wilson, eldest son of James and Eleanor Smith Wilson, was born in Somerford township, Madison county, Ohio, October 4, 1837.

His death occurred in London, January 25, 1905.

He was married January 14, 1858, to Sylvina J. McDonald and to them were born six children, Flora, James W., Harry, Charles, Mrs. Eleanor Wilson Bradley and Mrs. Lucy Wilson Simpkins.

Mr. Wilson, was, by inheritance, a farmer and stockdealer, which he followed in a practical and progressive manner on the same farm for forty-seven years. On account of impaired health he moved his residence to London a few months before his death. He was a well-informed man inheriting his love for reading, and a good memory from his mother, adn was distinguished for his strong common sense.

He was loved by his family, friends, and neighbors, for his plain, blunt honesty, and wholesouled generosity.

He had an advanced standing in the Masonic fraternity and ws buried by the ceremonies of that order.
