H. H. Beaver

Mr. H. H. Beaver, the well known contractor and builder of Shelby was born at Shiloh, Ohio, in 1867, acquiring his education at that place, at first attending the Clark school of which Hon. W. W. Kiles at that time was the teacher, afterwards attending the Shiloh High school. At the age of sixteen years Mr. Beaver took a fancy to the carpenter trade and began work as such until the year 1895, when he entered into partnership with F. H. Williams, under the firm name of Beaver & Williams, contractors and builders. Mr. Beaver became so popular with the citizens of Shelby, that they called himinto public life by electing him to the city council in April 1901. Although being a staunch Republican he received a large vote from the Democratic party, again showing his popularity. The firm of Beaver Williams have been the contractors of many buildings in our city, the most important being the new Central High School, Cycle works additi9on, United Brethren church, Carmichael block and the new Presbytering church that is now being erected on North Gamble street. Mr. Beaver is an enterprising man and without a doubt has the confidence of all his fellow citizens.
