Luther C. Holbert
Luther C. Holbert, son of John and Rebecca Holbert, was born in Marion County, W. Va., May 31, 1850. When he had attained the age of three years his parents moved to Ohio, and located near Canal-Winchester, Franklin County, where his minority days were spent on a farm. On the 5th of December, 1876, he married Miss Margery F., daughter of Edward and Arabella Ashton. Miss Ashton was born in Franklin County, Ohio, September 9, 1854. Mr. and Mrs. Holbert settled in Franklin County, where they remained until October, 1878, when they came to Shelby County and purchased the land on which they now reside. They have two children, both sons.
